Resource Based Economy

The term and meaning of a Resource Based Economy was originated by Jacques Fresco. It is a holistic socio-economic system in which all goods and services are available without the use of money, credits, barter or any other system of debt or servitude. All resources become the common heritage of all of the inhabitants, not just a select few. The premise upon which this system is based is that the Earth is abundant with plentiful resource; our practice of rationing resources through monetary methods is irrelevant and counter productive to our survival.See More

Trends: The Maltese Way.

Trends: The Maltese Way.

I think that when it comes to trends and creativity, we Maltese still have an imperialistic mentality problem which is ingrained in our behavior and in our sub conscience.

What I'm trying to point out here is that although we have moved forward in the way we do and present things, we are still discriminating towards visitors and tourists in many sectors.

Tourists and foreigners living here in Malta are till today still being charged differently when it comes to buy simple food necessities, like groceries etc.

I see this happening in many places and when it comes to Bars i.e. Locality Bars. There it happens the most and when it doesn't the patrons get offended that such a practice is not implemented.

I think that the fact that we Maltese use continuous phrases like 'to acquire' instead of 'to earn' then our mind set haven’t changed that much since those days when the Maltese where working for the crown.

I hope that in time this mentality will cease as it is harming not a little a lot of sectors.

Bar and Restaurant owners knows what I'm saying also vegetable vendors and grocers.

I'm sure that this practice is not done purposely and intentionally just to discriminate, but it's surely done consciously. And when the question 'why is this?' arises. than the only answer is 'Because this is Malta'.
