M3P - Preserving Malta's Musical Memory

In recent years, the Maltese music scene in general has grown at a rapid and healthy rate. As the pace of progress forges ahead, it is important to document everything that has in any way, shape or form contributed to propel Malta's musical output to the reputable standard it enjoys.

M3P is a foundation whose aim and goal is  to provide an inclusive repository for memories of Malta's music and associated arts, ensuring that these are kept in posterity for current and future generations. Any contribution that helps to build, expand and update this  archive is very welcome.

This project is supported by the Malta Arts Fund of the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts and the University of Hull's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and School of Arts & New Media.

L-Ghana Malti taghna lkoll

The event is not a Folklore Session but an informative and educational about Maltese Folklore singing, its history, traditions and culture. There will be very short parts of actual Folklore singing to demonstrate the texture of each type of singing.
