Leadership is setting a new direction or vision for a group that they follow.  Management controls or directs people in a group according to principles or values that have already been established.  The difference between leadership and management can be illustrated by considering what happens when you have one without the other. When both are combined they set a new direction and manage the resources to achieve it

Elizabeth,

I totally agree with what you said.  You can be a leader and try to innovate but if your idea is not supported by good management to achieve your goal this most probably will end up on a shelf and forgotten.  Unfortunately we see this happen often in the industry and it is a pitty because there are individuals who really have good ideas and good vision who come up with new concepts, if they are only supported a little bit better they can take us to the next level.

I believe that every individual has great potential in him/her. A good leader can evoke that potential to a great benefit for all, irrespective if it's for a team, a company or a whole country.

Thru time humans have been led to believe that to educate is to teach. Well I cannot disagree more, because the Greek equivalent for education means to pull out of one's inner substance of the individual.

By keeping in mind such a meaning we can discover endless possibilities. Thus a great leader can find and coordinate  the coherence needed to succeed to any aim or goal that any company, country etc.. is pointing at.

Unfortunately this is still quite a misunderstood concept and I believe that for humans to come into that level of understanding they first need to take what I call 'A leap of faith' and they have to start to admit that the old systems have never gave the 100% results to pointed strategies.
