Working with GVMalta English Language Centre in St Paul,s Bay I know all about Felton and the great job it does. That's why it is so important to introduce standards into all sectors. Everyone will win from it. Including the businesses themselves.

Definitely! For instance a good number of language schools in Malta form part of FELTOM, the non profit organisation that provides Quality Assurance when teaching English as a foreign language.  Not only, Feltom also seeks to provide quality assurance for schools offering other related services such as leisure activities.

I agree Mathea. Having an accreditation showing that you are pushing your standards up and wanting to recognized is all part of it. Giving more confidence to the clients

Having ISO standards makes the organization more credible, making things in the professional way.  Clients are more likely to buy a service from an accredited organization than one without, especially if using the service for the first time.

Having lived in different countries and worked for different organizations some with and some without ISO standards. The difference in the approach to clients in their attitude, service, quality and customer satisfaction was incredible. I believe this is a must and the way forward for the Maltese tourist trade if they are serious about not just retaining return tourists but also in attracting new. Time to take off the blinkers guys..........

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards.

ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 164 countries, one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.

ISO is a non-governmental organization that forms a bridge between the public and private sectors. On the one hand, many of its member institutes are part of the governmental structure of their countries, or are mandated by their government. On the other hand, other members have their roots uniquely in the private sector, having been set up by national partnerships of industry associations.

Therefore, ISO enables a consensus to be reached on solutions that meet both the requirements of business and the broader needs of society.

International Standards for Businesses, Government and Society. Increase standards and levels for todays tourists.

Many business and hotels in Malta fall behind in standards of service and quality. It's time for change, or be left behind.
