INTAKE 3 ONLINE QUESTIONNAIRE

Dear Students,

Over 250 students have now successfully completed their online multiple choice questionaire, all those who still have to complete their questionnaire should do so as quickly as possible and before 5th December.

If you haven't received your username and password for the online test please email sarah.woods@emcs.com.mt

The online test will be open from Friday 16th November and will close on Wednesday 5th December

Please take your test as you will not be able to graduate without it.

We would like to inform all INTAKE 3 students that the graduation will be held on ..

  • Monday 25th February 2013

  • at Excelsior Hotel 

  • from 7:30pm onwards

  • dress code: formal

  • ONLY one guest per student is allowed

24, 25, 26, 27 October at WESTIN, Malta

50 places per session on a 1st come 1st served basis. Preference will be given to students of INTAKE 2 and 3 that have 1 core module missing (Leadership and Management - Paul Sloane Session) followed by those from INTAKE 2 and 3 that need to make up their CPD hours. Session is also open for Intake 1 students who wish to graduate and have this core module missing.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ADVANCE TRAINING TOURISM LEADERS PROGRAMME

The overall aim of the ADVANCE training tourism leaders programmes is to increase the number of qualified professionals working in the tourism industry by updating their management knowledge /skills in order to drive for quality service improvements through change and innovation.  More specifically, the objectives of the ADVANCE training tourism leaders programmes are as follows:

 

  • Increase tourist satisfaction levels through the amelioration of the quality of service provided;
  • Strengthen and increase the profitability and competitiveness of the tourism industry;
  • Integrate innovation in the tourism industry;
  • Fill in training gaps where employees in key positions have never had the necessary exposure to academic and professional training;
  • Establish minimum entry level criteria for individuals working in key positions in the industry;
  • Provide lifelong learning opportunities for circa 1,576 trainees (excluding repeat participation);
  • Provide research supporting lifelong learning;
  • Improve the long-term employability and adaptability of the tourism workforce by increasing flexibility and ability to adapt to change;
  • Improve the employability of the unemployed;
  • Improve the adaptability of non-tourism employees, especially those in declining industries;
  • Increase the employment rate.

 

The specific objectives of the ADVANCE training tourism leaders programmes are:

 

  • To increase competences of managerial level employees operating in the various tourism sectors in the Maltese Islands, where the term managerial is understood as supervisory level and above; managers will in turn better their employees;
  • To introduce and continue a Continuous Professional Development Programme (CPD) for employees at managerial level in tourism establishments while encouraging non-tourism employees and unemployed persons to engage in CPD through participation in the project’s lifelong learning programmes;
  • To raise the motivation of the current and potential workforce by providing training opportunities for circa 1,380 individuals (excluding repeat participation); and
  • To strengthen the confidence and security of tourism employees with their choice of career while encouraging non-tourism employees and the unemployed to enter the tourism labour market.

If you have already been accepted onto the Programme, you should now register to join the e-learning and professional support community - see 'Sign Up' icon at the top right hand side of this page. Membership of the community is restricted to those formally accepted onto the programme so your application to join will need to be approved. This will normally be done within 24 hours. Please use the same e-mail address used on your Programme Application Form as this will significantly speed up the approval process.
